In 2013, the world caught wind of Canadian producer Marvin “Hagler” Thomas who landed his first major placement on Grammy award-winning rapper Drake’s third studio album Nothing Was The Same. Hagler teamed up with OVO Sound producer Noah “40” Shebib on the track titled “Furthest Thing” which opened the floodgates to an abundance of opportunity. He later co-produced “Trophies” (2014) off the Young Money: Rise of an Empire project.
Hagler is also credited for his work on Drake’s fourth studio album Views (2016) and his 2017 project, More Life. He approaches the boards like a true artist painting sounds that are both modern and nostalgic such as the record “Teenage Fever” – a nod to the 1999 smash record “If You Had My Love” by Jennifer Lopez. In addition to his work with Drake, Hagler has racked up credits for work with mainstream artists such as Chris Brown, A$AP Ferg, Teyana Taylor, Ty Dolla $ign, Vince Staples and many more. In 2018, he produced the single “Keep In Touch” by Tory Lanez which features Louisville, Kentucky native, Bryson Tiller.
